Hundreds of Sydneysiders gathered at Barangaroo Reserve last Sunday (30 April) to battle it out for the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to win a $10,000 diamond ring courtesy of our client Dracakis Jewellers.

After days of solving cryptic clues revealed one at a time, 200 people ventured to the Dracakis store in Mosman on Sunday morning to collect their entry tickets to participate in the Sydney Diamond Hunt 2017.

Guests were greeted at the door by Dracakis Jewellers’ owner Theo Dracakis and all received gift bags laden with goodies. Once inside, they sampled an array of decadent, drool-worthy cupcakes by Vintage Sugar Co., and admired the gorgeous bridal hair displays by Sahyoun & Co and bridal invitations and accessories by Serendipity.

Six lucky teams then competed in a game of ‘Toss the Bouquet’ where they had to throw a bouquet of flowers over their heads and into a basket. With the first team to finish moving onto the final round, the pressure was on. What seemed like a simple task proved challenging at first with a lot of near misses and cries from the crowd but the participants soon found their groove and before long we had a winning team.

Three ladies then moved onto the final round of the Sydney Diamond Hunt where they searched for one golden ball in a pit of over 15,000 rainbow plastic balls, to take home the diamond ring. Rainbow colours were flying everywhere as the crowd watched on and cheered, even pointing out the golden ball amongst the others!

Finalist Migaela was quick to grab it and became the winner of the Sydney Diamond Hunt 2017, taking home a stunning 18CT while gold, radiant cut 1ct total E-F colour VS clarity (for all you diamond divas out there) diamond ring!!

A huge thanks to all participants and a big congrats to Migaela.

See you all next year for Sydney Diamond Hunt 2018!
